What do you think about ChromeOS? Neutron runs but I couldn't make the DSD native or DoP playback running.

Not quick at all, but the best tablet experience. PCM playback is fine. I will be busy for a few days then continue checking alternatives.

I found a driver for the internal WIFI module - RTL 8821CU and now it works, so I don't need the extra USB WIFI module.

The sound is good but a little bit thicker than I like, so I applied a bit of EQ and it became awesome! Depth is great, punchy, fast and strong bass. Now I installed Ubuntu 21.04 as dual boot, installed the WIFI driver and can even run applications via ssh / X forwarding from my PC, so I see the user interface on my PC desktop.
So far it is closer to being a keeper. I will try to make a small video later this week.

Excellent, good work buddy, look forward to seeing that.
Your work should be transportable to the w0 too 👍

Actually, best thing would be recompiling the kernel and the desktop components with full optimizations for Atom processors - possibly optimizing for size. So, at some point, we get a snapshot of, for example, Ubuntu 21.04 or Arch Linux, and recompile the important packages and kernel, and make an image out of it. Then slowly we can add / remove packages.
I installed the low latency kernel, but I will try the xanmod kernel some time.
I connected the line out to BX2+ today and wow! It is sooooo good. Internal amplifier is also great but, as said, a bit thicker sound, but nothing a small EQ tweak cannot fix. It is a great sounding device.
