I rip my own CD's aswell, but last year I started to care about plastic waste and decided to buy the digital album if no digipak option was available. I mainly use bandcamp for that purpose, though I've bought from NativeDSD and HDTracks sometimes.

Reducing plastic production is a fair argument to be honest. It's good to see that people actually take that into account when buying something like music though, if you can entirely remove the need for another physical copy yet still get the sale then all the better.
On a side note, I've recently discovered a download site called OTOTOY that sells FLAC downloads of Japanese exclusive albums. You need a VPN to work around the "Japan only" part when buying something, but I've finally been able to get ahold of several region exclusives in lossless. Most of the regional stuff is in 16bit as the exclusives were almost always from a CD. Paying and downloading was a breeze.
Seeing as I listen to a lot of Pop Punk and plenty of artists put additional tracks on their Japan only releases to justify the higher CD prices, it was a damn good find. Hopefully it's useful for a few others.
Your results will vary as it depends on what you listen to. Well worth a look though.
