This one has 128GB + 6GB Ram (Stainless 4G version) But I agree the Alloy one should be 128GB and this one 256GB. Then you look at the LPGT and it has 0GB 🙈😂 Nice, I'd be ok with 128Gb, 256Gb better and more appropriate IMO. Yet to see the Stainless steel version, but heading to a supplier this week as they have the A&K SE200. Think they will also have the R8 to demo so will give it a shot if time permits. Local model of R8 will be 4G by default, nor will it have Google and it's highly intrusive services... I think that DAP's with display & multiple features should also have internal memory, with few exception such as the QLS 361, Hifiman R2R2000 etc. Also want to see the new A&K KANN Alpha, however same issue being limited to 64Gb internally, be nice if similar to SR25 we get a 128Gb option locally. TBH I don't need the driving power of the likes of the Hiby R8 or A&K KANN Alpha, I've seen the A&K SE200 first hand and it's a work of art, precision being the operative word. I still love my WM1A however similar to all Sony DAP's it's Achilles heel is drivability with the A&K SR25 having something like 4X the power output (standard power calculation applied - VrmsSquared/load impedance). A & B the same tracks on both DAP's with the same headgear it does indeed reveal a difference. Q-6

It would be great to hear what you think about R8 vs M11 Pro. M11 Pro is to me overly bright and too analytical; although I still have the M11 Pro I rarely listen to it. I'm seeking a more natural representation, the M11 Pro simply comes across as boring, lacking emotion, ultimately that's what music is all about... Accurate yes, entertaining no as there's little if any character to the M11 Pro. My WM1A, A&K SR25, ACMEE MF01, ZX300 are all far more engaging & enjoyable... Q-6

I kinda like the R8 brown Dignis case! What I don't understand is why did they think leaving the bottom part to be open would be a good idea? A velcro strap would be safer. I stream a lot, but have around 2-3TB of FLACs too, in order not to buy lot of microSD cards, I keep a copy of the library in the cloud and use UPNP to stream from them, or just use PlexAMP which is easier! So far loving the R8 SS 4G version, so glad the LTE works fine here and sounds so good! BTW thanks @nayparm for sticking through all the crap we both went thru this!

No worries bro, it sure was a roller coaster I bet you couldn't believe both lost parcels turning up together out of the blue, I know I couldn't, super relieved. Good idea with the streaming

Saw the R8 yesterday not much chance to really have a listen. Big & heavy again a very nice DAP, design of the Dignis case is plain stupid as the DAP slowly slips out from the bottom in use, not what you want with such an expensive device. TBH with something this big & heavy I'd just a soon as go with a QLS 390 which is far more capable again and have the likes of a A&K SR25, Hiby R6 Pro, Shanling M6 Pro etc. for on the go.
Been tumbling the idea of a desktop transportable such as the QLS 390, and just been offered a new A&K Kann Cube at very nice price. The Cube isn't the most fluid DAP I've ever tried, equally there's no doubting it's audio credentials. Have also read that the new Kann Alpha is on the brighter side of neutral being more aligned with some of the A&K DAP's.
Yet to hear the new Kann Alpha, but if it's a bright source I'll definitely pass on it, preferring neutral to warm sources.

This dap is absolutly top notch. For some reason not as hyped as others such as m17, n8ii, m8 etc. Yet I bet its better than them in many ways. It has serious power and is smaller than the m17. A almost hidden gem

New firmware V1.40G
No idea what the bugs were but MQA is of zero interest.
Changelog: 1. Added MQA USB/HID support*; *USB HID communication: The player communicates with its USB device using HID protocol—the player sends audio data to the USB device; and the USB device decodes and renders the received DAC in MQA audio data and presents the relative information
2. Various other bug fixes.
