Appearance wise, it sort of reminds me of the early ak100 and ak120

Looks pretty good !
The downside is it uses the same ancient ingenic X1000E CPU as Cayin N3 Pro and N8
These 2 also ran Hiby OS and struggled with laggy GUI, severe EQ limitations and sluggish library with lowish track count (now 2 card slots 🤷♂️) All said to be a CPU limitation
The FPGA will take some tasks away from the CPU but its unclear how much better that will be than the Altera 5M80ZE64C5N used in those 2. It will have to be much better. The darwin side won't need much as I never heard a single difference whatsoever in any darwin setting on the RS6 😂

Hiby has just answered my e-mail. The library will be build into one library for both slots but there is a track limit of 50.000 tracks in the library however all tracks are accessable via folder view

Mine is now sitting on my desk but I will not be able to try it for another 2 weeks until I return home from Holliday Nightmare 😅 interested to know your thoughts on this one. The RS6 sounds great but all the Darwin hype they did for the RS6 'for me' was a load of fuss about nothing as I never heard a difference with any of the settings. Ironically when I'd rooted the Cayin N8ii and discovered/enabled all the hidden Hiby features I could hear a difference with the Harmonic Controller even though Darwin wasn't supposed to work on the N8ii 😅🤷♂️

Got my first listen last night with the Tansio Mirai Sands and first impression is good. Size and build seems fine as does the sound (obviously need some burn in first). Only problem is when browsing folders it can not show enough characters for me to distinguish albums as my folders are named <artist/composer> - <album title> and I can’t use the tag based library, partly because I have more tracks that it can handle, and partly because it lacks an artist level under genre which is how I normally browse on my Sony daps and in foobar on my computer (I go genre->artist->album). So I’ll probably have to sell it

I must admit I like the size of this dap. N8 type of ui brings back fear though!

Got about 100 hours on it now and have listened about 10 hours to all types of music with the Tansio Mirai Sands and it’s certainly got a lovely tone and sound. Mid range and vocals are clearly the star but it’s not exactly bad at either end either.
Have now updated to fw 1.04 with the 50.000 tracks limit on the database and have inserted 2 sd cards with a total of about 60.000 tracks. This makes library navigation virtually unuseable. Going via the Artist entry, opening an Artist to get the list of albums for that artist takes 5-10 seconds. Going via Genre and opening a genre takes 5-10 minutes before the list of albums are shown and the gui is responsive again. Browsing via folders is fast but as mentioned before even the smallest font is too big to show enough characters in the folder name to make recognicing individual albums possible, especially with classical music, the folder names simply get too long and identical within the characters shown. I would have to redo my folder structure and add a composer/artist level to make this useable. Sound is nice and build and form factor is good.
Edit: after 30 minutes opening my largest genre with 6-700 albums the gui is still not responding, hard reset is the only way to regain control. Seems that if I decide to keep the player I will have to rebuild my folder structure and work entirely on folder browsing. About 3.000 folders to rename/split

The only way is multi processors but adds cost and complexity 🙃
