A LPGT MK2 would have been better : AKM 4499 Eq, OLED screen, longer playback time, etc.

Absolutely, I think they may have one in the works and this is to use up most of the remaining boards/components.

I dont think there's a huge difference between the 4497 to 4499, it all boils down the to the DAC implementation after all. But I agree, Bluetooth 4.2? We're way past that now!

Hey all, didn't know Nayparm had a forum going here.. he just pointed me in this direction after posting on head-fi. I tried out the Titanium over the weekend at an expo (similar to Canjam) here in Shanghai. All I can say really is it sounded great, I rated it as clearer and more immersive than the Plenue S and M11Pro I use as portable DAPs, and the Mojo/Poly I had at home. But then again, I don't have the original LPGT to compare it to. It's made me curious what the sound difference would be between the original and the new model. Mind you, I have been wondering about picking up the P6000, seems like a great deal with more bang for the buck, and more in my price range! I was also happily impressed that the LPGT is small enough to genuinely be a portable player, didn't realize it's only a touch bigger than the P6000. I'll tell you what with the talk of the cost here in the forum, there was no shortage of people trying it out at the show, and also no shortage of people wandering around with LPGTs, A&K SP2000s etc. I get the feeling they could easily sell the whole 999 here in Shanghai alone But I do think the talk of a new model in the works above is probably on the money, the only question would be when it will come out. I would feel a bit ripped off if I bought the LPGT titanium, with its limited edition elevated price, only for a similarly priced updated model to come out soon after.

Absolutely, I think they may have one in the works and this is to use up most of the remaining boards/components. From what they told me, normal production of the LPGT will resume after the Ti run has been fulfilled.

Low on ideas & flush with parts. Limited TI will keep the DAP in the public, domain and keep the brand relevant. While the next iteration is finalised... Also great fan service for those who care Q-6

Completely true, probably they are already working on the next portable music player, with AKM 4499 Eq chip to be in trend with everyone else out there, while keeping us busy looking and thinking about the LPGTTi.
