In this thread, there shall be a list of custom firmware for Sony Walkman players. WM1A/WM1Z:
- DMP-WM1 (this post) --------------------------------- The DMP-WM1 firmware has been an incredible enhancement to the WM1Z (and WM1A) that I don't foresee looking for audible improvements beyond this! Having said that... I'm looking forward to when the next update of the firmware is ready!  Thanks again for your work. I've been enjoying the hell out of it!  |

The original DMP is quite something. My audio Note Kaesei caps are reaching full burn in, and I am still floored with the sound. Perfect fit with the Copper foil internal cables. Doubt anything will surpass this one, at least for this modded player.

Switched DSEE AI on for a recording of DGG Archiv, which sounds a bit dry and intimate for Handel orchestral-scale works. It suddenly had a nice reverbwrous spacious sound wow
