Around the 120 hour mark capacitor burn-in, I'd swear the bass got punchier in a very nice way and the overall sound just feels kind of better! I feel like I'm owning the holy grail of sound with the Gjallarhorn JM Edition haha. I'll never know for sure if burn in sensations are real or if it's just the adaptation process (or placebo) but I do feel sound is better than before.

Fantastic, your probably only just past half way on the burn in journey too 👍 It's definitely real, this helps highlight changes / differnces between burn-in, mods and daps.

It would be nice to have a recording machine able to catch each phase of the sound through the burn in in order to compare later.

I forgot to mention the numbers of the full charge. From absolute 0% (when the device doesn't even turn on) it took 8 hours and 10 minutes approx to do a complete charge. Considering you get almost 60 hours of non-stop flac playback I think it's awesome. My guess is that once calibrated and with "battery care" activated we get around 54 hours of flac playback.

Hey everyone! I'm a huge follower of these mods and eventually plunged in to do my own after consulting with Whitigir back in the Head-fi forums. When I realised that the forum was down I immediately sourced this forum for my next dose of sick mods by Nayparm. Recently, I've tried changing to a bigger capacity battery and due to my poor soldering skills I kind of blown the battery board on the original battery and my device would not charge. I immediately went into panic mode as I thought it was the main Sony board that was blown. However after consulting with Nayparm(Steve) he recommended me to connect a 100k resistor to the main board. He even came to check on the progress, and for that I really appreciate your help Steve! The resistor was so much smaller than I expected and since I've lost my tweezers please pardon the slanted angle of my resistor. A huge thanks to everyone that's actively sharing their modding ideas allowing DIYers like us to do it confidently and hearing such a big difference in the sound signature. The mod are as follows: 7 Kaesei 100uf 16V capacitors 2 Kaesei 50uf capacitors 16V 1 220uf 25V capacitor Neotech flat copper wire for balanced connection and 24AWG neotech copper cable for battery leads.
