Hi buddies. What method of archiving do you think it is better to safeguard a music library?
Optical media such as DVD-R DL or Blu-ray XL 📀 Hard drives (traditional platter based either external or internal) 💾 Flash memory media such as USB Sticks, SSD, (micro) Sd cards ⚡️
Online locker such as icloud. One drive etc ☁️
I used to use DVDs but since having all lossless I’ve switched to three 4TB external drives plus two 1TB cards

I know now this may be silly with streaming. But some of us have very large libraries

I have my entire library stored on a Synology nas. Monthly I back the nas up to one of two usb hard drives. I also have it all locally on my Auralic streamer and the red book versions of everything is on the 1Z and A55. Also an aac 320kb version of everything is on a sd card in the car stereo

What about these M-discs, DVD+/-R and BD-R 25GB (SL), 50GB (DL) and 100GB (TL).
I don’t trust dual or triple layer optival discs, i always had problems with DVD+R DL, they went bad pretty quickly

Thankfully my library is small enough that an SSD or Flash memory is enough to have it backed up on.
A lot of my music is purchased from QoBuz and I can re-download everything I've ever bought using their app on my iPhone, and again onto my laptop.
Aside from that, Vinyl rips are stored on my computer's SSD and I distribute to flash memory to go into my Walkman.
It's been a solid setup so far.
