I got a new Micro SD card, transferred some songs to it, put it on my walkman player... but wait, where are my songs? The player doesnt show them.
A: be sure to format your card on the player for best results.
B: create a folder named Music on the root-level of the card, then move the songs into this folder.
TIP walkman players only see songs stored under Music\

Why does my walkman player don't show all covers for the albums /songs I transferred ?
Walkmans support Non-interlaced PNG as well as non-progressive (baseline) JPG artwork images.
A; on MS paint you can re-save (save as...) an image and it will be baseline JPG (havent tested with PNG)
Or if you have a photo editing software like Photoshop you can do the following.
1. Click on file, then save as... 2. If prompted that file exists click OK to close dialog. 3. On save/quality settings dialog choose baseline standard (JPG images) and click ok. 4. Go to your music manager /tag editor, remove the cover and save the music files. 5.reimport the "new" image as front-cover and save. 6. On walkman drive or sd card, reimpirt files.

My walkman makes popping or clicking noises, it is defective?
Don't worry it is normal as the WM1Z/WM1A, ZX300, ZX500, DMP-Z1 feature a relay switch that springs into action on the following cases.
A. You plugged unplugged the balanced headphone Jack B. Format sample rate changes from 44.1kHz to 48kHz base or visceversa. C. Engaging or disengaging the Source direct mode. D. Same as C for some DSP like DSEE HX on or off E. Player goes to standby (sleep)

I tried sharing my music with a friend by connecting some Balanced headphones on the 4.4mm side abd other SE on the 3.5mm side.. however, no sound comes out from 3.5?
Balanced takes priority and the 3.5mm gets shut-down

I saw that amazon/ebay/insert seller here is selling a 4.4mm to 3.5mm female adapter, can I use such adapters safely?
as a ruke of thumb, most of these adapters attempt to "adapt" the Single-ended (SE) 3.5mm plugs which would most likely damage your equipment and/or headphones.
Make sure the 3.5mm side of the adapter is for BALANCED 3.5mm TRRS (sony TRRS, hi-fiman 3.5 balanced or the new 3.5PRO)
TIP: the other way around works fine. that is 3.5mm unbalanced MALE to 4.4mm FEMALE

How to play DSD files on an A10 or A20 walkman
Take note that these have a 192kHz rate limit so therefore only DSD64 will work.
If your music encoder decoder suite is capable of encoding DSD as DoP tou are way to go.
1 make sure your software is set to encode DSD to DoP (DSD over PCM) 2 select your desired DSD files (must be 2.8224MHz) 3 convert them to wither FLAC or wav (havent tried with APE or ALAC) 4. Trqnfer the resulting pcm files to walkman 5 connect WMC-NWH10 cable and connect external USB DAC 6 is njoy
