Currently I have an S that i am loving. It plays extremely well with my Focal Radiance. I do have a few concerns. 1. The battery life is shortened to about 6 hours. I know battery life shortens with age but should i be concerned about this or are there replacement batteries? 2. The physical buttons sometimes need to be presses very precisely. Is this just age or signs of a button going bad? I had bad buttons on past cowons. 3. Sometimes the screen will unlock and start changing tracks etc when i am walking with the player in my pocket. Nothing else will be in my pocket and i dont wear anything too tight. Is this common? If i walk with my hand holding it in my pocket then i do not get these random unlocks. 1. The battery can be changed 👍 2. Possibly, they use metal dome contacts, behind the actual metal button is a nipple. Sometimes the button strip needs adjusting to make the buttons more central/closer. Its possible to retention the domes/clean contact area. 3. Unless you have a sensitive power button you may have the following feature enabled in settings: Show song change : If a playing song is changed when the screen is off, the screen turns on automatically and shows the information of a newly changed song for 5 seconds.

That setting was on! I love Cowon but i do feel like there are always settings without enough explanation. If the weather stays clear ill try this on my walk today. Im always looking for reasons to use the S.

Hello. Is it possible to use the plenue z2 screen to replace the "s" screen, at least to get a GUI? This is also amoled 3.7, although the year of release is earlier. Thanks.

I've wondered this too but without having one in my hands its difficult to know, there are tear down pics but no idea if its the same model screen and what touch screen controller is used. www.cirmall.com/articles/445/

Probably this is the same Samsung AMOLED screen (part of the marking is visible). But the touchscreen has 3 touch buttons, maybe it has an unsupported controller. I will buy "z2" for the experiment. As long as there is a possibility. He's too old.) If I can, I'll share a photo. Thanks.

@nayparm
I really like my Plenue S to the point that I bought a backup. But I am also interested in having some mods done.
Are these mods simply to replace components with those of higher quality and extract more from what is already there or do they also intend to change the sound signature?
I also sent you a message to discuss some other aspects.
Thanks for your insight.

Hi buddy, sorry been bonkers busy, I did type half a reply then when I went back to complete the browser had closed and lost it 🤔🙃 The plenue s is a fantastic dap, the mods just enhance what is already great with a little more detail and layering. It may be possible for a larger capacity battery but trying to buy a battery with a none fake mah from china difficult to say the least. What you buy thinking is higher could well be lower than what your replacing 😂

As for the battery, yeah i hear you. I think even the big companies had some battery issues. I heard hiby got some bad lots but since sorted it out. I would like to send a unit in for mods and a battery replacement if possible (sooner than later as its being held in the UK, once you have it i am in nearly no rush). How / where would you like to proceed with the discussion?

It looks like that is an earlier unit, iirc 2016 was about when they started to hit the US.
Was there ever a later board version than v1.0?

A larger capacity, quite a bit thicker (just fits!) but shorter (in lenght) battery which is going to allow for some physically LARGE Audio Notes 😁👍 I'll be removeing the lip from the chassis were the stock battery ends. Attachments:

All the Plenue S boards I've seen are 2015.09.24 V1.0 which will have been design date as opposed to manufacture date.
