5-10% battery drop isn’t that bad tbh, I was expecting more... I imagine that’s the adjusted delay timing in the visualiser graph you were talking about MrWalkman? It could be why Sony set such a delay on it to begin with.... For anyone with a modded player that’s got a larger battery it’ll be negligible anyway. Excited to hear the 300+ on my ZX.... I’m not using any of the visualizations so it must be something else, probably pushing the SMaster more

I wonder if that’ll affect the lifespan of the chips or not? Probably not tbh, everything needs 100’s of hours of burn in to sound “right” anyway.
By the time the S-Master chip is ready to go, everything else like the battery and display will have gone anyway. Or have been sold of years before it’s ever a problem....
I stand by it, I’m happy to test anything out my 300 if need be MrWalkman!,

I might look at adding thermal sheet or a heatsink to the S-Master in future mods. Depends if the S-Master actually does get any hotter and how viable it is with regards room. As the battery pretty much covers half of it and the battery its a source of heat too especially while charging.

It's something that was already in the firmware more or less, so it should be within the S-Master's specs. I really wouldn't worry about it, except for the slightly decreased battery life.
Just as a fact, when playing music normally (on non FE+ firmware), there is a low power mode of the S-Master being used.

Holy sh** guys... I've been listening to some DSD classical music with FE+ and it's definitely the genre where the difference is more obvious. I thought FE was end-game but I was proved wrong! The highs clarity bring sstrings to a whole new level of realism. I'm in absolute awe...

Looks like the FE+ is using a lot more battery than FE. On my Nayparm modded unit with the larger battery i would get about 14 hours play time from full charge before losing the first bar on the battery with FE. With FE+ I have now played 13 hours from full charge and lost 3 bars on the battery so it looks like FE+ is using twice as much battery as FE

I have no idea, but my battery doesn't get emptied like this.

I have no idea, but my battery doesn't get emptied like this. I’ll try to recalibrate as on the A55 my experience was that installing your fw’s would mess up the battery calibration and set whatever the charge remaining was when the fw was installed to be 100% and not until completely depleting and recharging did I get full battery time

I'll report on the battery times. Again, the sound quality is unparalleled, but I noticed a battery decrease as well.

Battery decrease is expected, but not in a huge amount. As I recall I once fully charged my stock 1Z and then just left it turned on but unused and the battery lasted somewhere between 2 and 3 weeks in that state

Up to this point in 3.02 stock and FE fw a full charge lasted between 38 and 44 hours approx so with FE+ a full charge should last between 33 and 38 hours approx. We shall see...

Are there any other plans with the frimware? Such as OS optimisations, improvements to battery life or additional EQ options? I'd happily financially support any ongoing updates to these devices if it was a money/time issue too. I guess it boils down to whether anything can be improved? Are these FW mods completely rewritten and standalone? Or do they use stock firmware with small add-ons and tuning patches? Keep up the top notch work! I'm excited to see if there's anything else in the works!! Thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad you like it so much! I'm enjoying it as much myself! Unfortunately, it's just the stock firmware being patched. I'm planning on trying to modify things on the interface - battery percentage would be nice, for example. I'm not sure if it can be done, but I'll see.
