I really appreciate it, man! It's the same for me, it's just so perfect and awesome, at least for my ears. Are there any other plans with the frimware? Such as OS optimisations, improvements to battery life or additional EQ options? I'd happily financially support any ongoing updates to these devices if it was a money/time issue too. I guess it boils down to whether anything can be improved? Are these FW mods completely rewritten and standalone? Or do they use stock firmware with small add-ons and tuning patches? Keep up the top notch work! I'm excited to see if there's anything else in the works!! Thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad you like it so much! I'm enjoying it as much myself! Unfortunately, it's just the stock firmware being patched. I'm planning on trying to modify things on the interface - battery percentage would be nice, for example. I'm not sure if it can be done, but I'll see.

Thanks for replying, some small changes to the Interface would be awesome to see. I imagine you get bombarded with "ideas" or "features" to add. Sony's clearly wanted to keep the FW as minimal as possible for an offline player, adding too much could start to clutter it. It would bee cool to see a little clock or a way to create playlists remotely (rather than having to add them to the player via a PC) - assuming it's even possible to integrate. The stock FW obviously already has the clock settings baked in to supply data on how many hours of listening has gone on and keeping track of song run times. A small yet simple digital clock on the home screen would be an awesome feature! Even if it had to be in a separate "folder" on the home screen. Just thinking out loud! Do you know if it's possible to add the "FLAC & Volume Info" at the top of the player from the WM1A/Z to the 300/A-Series? I appreciate the 300's screen might be a tad small to accommodate it or could clutter the display. It's a cool feature though Either way, thank you regardless! Any small additions are wishful extras that won't 'make or break' these players! I wouldn't want to add any unnecessary work to your already long list! As I say, I'm overjoyed with what you've accomplished already and if this is the final rendition, I'm happy! All this makes me wish I knew how to code in order to help out in some way :L If you ever need anything testing, give me a shout

All this makes me wish I knew how to code in order to help out in some way :L If you ever need anything testing, give me a shout I could do something like you go the internal storage and there is a folder containing the current clock as the name, for example, but I'm not sure if it's really worth it. I'll see about it. Regarding UI elements, unfortunately I can't modify that, and I'm not entirely sure if it's gonna be possible in the future, as they are integrated into the main executable. In the meanwhile, DMP-WM1 FE+ is set to come, bringing improved rendition of the sound, while keeping the same sound signature of DMP-WM1 FE. The improved rendition translates into the bass being tighter, with more slam, and the highs revealing more details, smoothly and without any harshness, as with DMP-WM1 FE. I also managed to adjust the delay of the on-screen visualizers so they are more in sync with the music. It's really nice seeing the VU meter being so precise, makes me want to look at it more. The delay adjustment will also be applied to DMP-WM1 FE, but the new version will be DMP-WM1 FE+. It's gonna be a different package as the improved rendition mode may (or may not) use a bit more battery.

Have now spent 4 hours listening to the FE+ fw with my Nayparm modded 1ZA with flac 16/44 files and the IER-Z1R and it is another incremental marvel in MrWalkmans journey. While I find the improvements to get gradually smaller with each step they are certainly there. FE+ is even more euphonic and atmospheric with more controlled bass and slightly more forward mids. I cant really comment on the changes in soundstage as I'm notoriously poor at judging that

At first I found the mids a bit more laid back actually, but the more I listen the more I like this even more than FE, specially in the highs department. There is a new level of clarity with FE+. It's not night and day but it's definitely there and it's very pleasant!

This means it should have matched in treble resolve.

Looks line FE+ is consuming 5-10% more battery than FE

Looks line FE+ is consuming 5-10% more battery than FE I was just gonna say this. I will recalibrate just in case but it seems battery life is shortened a bit.

MrWalkman if you can pull of the dual boot FE / FE+ by either 'Hold' being on or off during boot that would awesome buddy Also great work on the in-time level meters

5-10% battery drop isn’t that bad tbh, I was expecting more...
I imagine that’s the adjusted delay timing in the visualiser graph you were talking about MrWalkman? It could be why Sony set such a delay on it to begin with....
For anyone with a modded player that’s got a larger battery it’ll be negligible anyway. Excited to hear the 300+ on my ZX....
