The Amp12EX-S (Special) might work with those Vishay MKP1839HQ which are 26mm long, but that's 1mm longer than the solen. The MKP1839 are the axial version of the MKP1837 i'm already using although MKP1837 are supposed to sound better for some reason ๐ค

So this idea is already done in your exnp mod then(!). No need for those other axial cap(!) When the square type vishay will do and most probably better.
Only reason would be for the silver type solens , ha.

The axial version mkp1839 is technically superior by a factor of 10x VS the square package one. Look at the tangen losses and the dissipation factors.
However, we all known that sound is a subjective matters.
The Solen silver caps have a very low dissipation factor, even lower than the Axial version of the Vishay. Not the mention that Solen is Silver as a metallized electrode, and not aluminum. We are looking at Vishay 4x10-4, where as Solen is 3x10-4.
I always love to see Silver or Copper foil polypropylene capacitors. Unfortunately, most of them are as big as a fire cracker.

Absolutely, from what i've read the MKP1837 sounds better but I have both in stock now so can listen myself - If I get some time that is ๐

Speaking of specs... When you quit waiting for parts and 'go large' with higher specs and funky placement Stock board front/back

There are finally pics of the new stock amp board, and ibasso seems to be taking notes from the exnp mod. They are using 2 similar vishay films used here, as well as two yellow films. It looks to me, they are all on the output stages. The PSU caps are also changed. No more green mica bypass, but some square cap. Overall, switching from electrolytics to films, should be a huge improvement..

Ibaso is using .22uF for their yellow axle film caps, And its coincidence, as I was going to ask about instead choosing the .22UF Solon silver that was available at same size as the .1uf

Speaking of specs... When you quit waiting for parts and 'go large' with higher specs and funky placement Having a dx300 redone like this should easily elevate it a higher level , and then it also has longer battery life than newcommer 320 at 10hrs max. As example, I was fortunate to hear whitiger 220max, and I found it to be on level of 300max in holography. I was stunned. So I fully expect this dx300exn mod to be a better choice than spending another $1600 on a 320... So is this mod going to be offered?? Sorry I didnt check the site.

Donโt know about you, but I hate the way the battery connectors are LMAO Yeah the standard size parts don't leave much room for error but going double width and slightly longer ๐ค๐
The battery connector is plop but the battery test points make a good alternative for after market batteries. I'm making a very special edition DX300 to celebrate the model ๐๐ and thought about a battery upgrade but fed up of recieving fake mah batteries from china that are no where near the advertised mah.

I will probably be offering the DX300 mod, ๐ this one is a special edition unit that will be for sale , i'll post more pics/info tomorrow. The AMP11 mod above is not for it that's for a customer.

In my online search, I had read that the kaisie bipolar may have a bit more forward mids. While I love the wet realistic clear sound of kaisie, I am left wondering if using the blue caps give a different presentation, as there is no longer copper used.

The only thing that is sitting at 7mm, which is the maximum clearances that can fit inside the 300 is the only 0.10uF. But then again, the dissipation factors, and the dielectric is what most important . IMO, Copper and silvers are where the sweetness is at. I want alternative of this Silver metallized dielectrics. I want a real Silver foils instead of deposited metallized metalโฆ. But the real foils are so freaking huge LOL! In my amplifier, the 0.10Uf is as big as the size of 2 fingers
