So I finally have the dx320.
Here are some quick observations:
**the output of the dx320 unit itself, is higher into the amp boards.
**the new amp11 has a similar sound of older amp, with main improvements being the film cap additions.
**I am convinced the new amp11 is using the yellow tone caps for it's new signature.
**using same new amp11, the soundstage presentation of the dx320 makes the dx300 sound a bit relaxed and slightly further away.
**detailing and holography is a bit more on the dx320.

Ibasso new amp11 board mod idea:  If thier yellow caps were placed horizontal, then it would create space for having more caps at input. ๐ While I do not see this design as good as any mod, it was a smart/cost effective move to only place 4 film caps. |

RANGE : ยฑ20% (M) @1khz LEAKAGE : Max 0.04 CV +10ฮผA , AFTER CHARGE 5 MINUTES TEMP. RANGE :STABLE - 40ยบC TO +85ยบC MAX 105ยบC SURGE VOLT : 63V-FOR 50V LIFE TEST : FOLLOWS DATAS ARE SATISFIED WHEN RETURN TO 25ยบC. AFTER RATED VOLTAGE APPLIED FOR 1,000 HOURS AT 85ยบC : CAPACITANCE : WITHIN ยฑ20% OF INITIAL VALUE D.F. : WITHIN 200% OF INITIAL VALUE LEAKAGE CURRENT : WITHIN INITIAL VALUE MAX. D.F. : Max 25% FOR 50V โ @ 1KHZ Bevenbi ones have no branding on them although I've seen them branded Bennic and also Morel. They also do a B25R radial version. I could only find a 3.3uf 100v B05A picture but they do them in 50v and the B25A in 50V too as used by iBasso.  Chances are they also make the Yellow film caps for iBasso as they make lots of yellow films with 100v rating.

Very interesting. So they didn't go with films for the tube board.
I felt the Amp13 didn't have the all of the crisp lively edge to transients, like I hear on the other boards. As if it was a tiny touch smothed over, even though Low level resolve was there.
So maybe the culprit was those electrolytics.

Another busy weekend ๐ This ones a custom AMP12EXN for a customer
18 ultra low ESR Tantalum Polymer Kemet Capacitors
(2 more than standard EXN to populated the 2 empty locations on the underside after postive results on another mod)
7 x 25v/63v Audio Note Seiryu Electrolytic Capacitors 3 x Solen Polypropylene/Silver Film Capacitors 2 x Amtans Polypropylene/Copper Film Capacitors

The one used by Ibasso has only 1 end with a groove and the other end is flat. It also has a tantalum coupled lead, which usually indicating the + side of the tantalum capacitors . Must be from that same company though, so it is a good find! which is the exact Amtans Polypropylene/Copper Film Capacitors ? Found them from Hificollective . How did you find them Solen caps  I love them in Amp12EX-s |

The one I pictured is the larger B05A the smaller B25A has the indentation at one side only.
Its the Amtrans AMCH 470pf - partsconexion do them too.
I like the solen caps ๐

Wow , looks quite impressive! The Amtans are a surprise, will they be replacing your vishay in future mods? No I won't replace as the largest is 0.0082uf and its 1mm too large. Possibly the AMCG but i'd have to experiment and I don't have much R&D time with all the mod work on currently. Same again I orderd a bunch of ADA4625 opamps in both single and dual. I think they will work nicely on AMP11 AMP12 (AMP13?) but again I have no time to try currently. 2 may be going in an R2R2K Black mod though. |

Ibasso lately has ramp up their sound quality with new components and it sounds very good now but your mods make it even more appealing ๐คฉ
Is there any new more special special mods available?
I also wonder if you guys tried the mundorf supreme it has interesting combinations of pure silver and some % of gold, it musta be musical and clean detailed. Sony been using something similar with there new soldering solutions

which unfortunately have to wait for free time and budget for experimentation. Maybe whitigir has tried mundorf caps in desktop gear but in portable gear we are sevearly limitid by size constraints which is both frustrating and time consuming when looking for parts. I don't think there is a single Mumdorf capacitor in their entire catalogue small enough to fit in an iBasso amp module. |

Sony been using something similar with there new soldering solutions Size is factor, so fewer companies and cap selections available. Mundorf not make good caps that small. These guys have pretty much know about every "optimal" cap (that can fit). |
