Wow, really liking plus FEV2. wow my ier-z1r got a veil lift, wow clean fast bass, qiry hughs and smooth mids, details wow every where. Yes I noted holography increased especially for DSD and in general well miked (some recordings omit room mics) and recorded material

While waiting for my walkman to charge to 100% and doing a library rebuild on media go. Had a look at my library.
3454 albums total
From these about 9% hi-res (312).
I never thought I would get close to 10% hi-res

Lost my third battery bar after a further 5 hours and 1 day stand by so 21 hours play and 3 days stand by on 3 bars of battery so I expect to get to about 31-32 hours from the full battery with FE+ as opposed to about 40 hours on FE I never get why I get those 2 or 3 less hours than you haha! What's your screen brightness? And do you delete music directly from the device from time to time? I reached 35 hours play time on my FE+ run, but that includes a 30 minute charge while I transferred some music and upgraded to FEv2 fw so would probably have been 30-32 hours without the top op |

I have around 8h playback (4 hours on hi-res) and battery is on last bar now , definitely FE+ consumes more battery

Yeah, it has an impact in battery life but if SQ is your goal it's well worth it. That's why this last FW is so awesome, having the option to choose between FE+ and FE depending on the ocasion.

Thank you for this new FW MrWalkman ! Did you get a chance to try it? What do you think? My first impression is that the bass is deeper but does not overflow into the soundstage. I find the soundstage to be narrower, in favor of better clipping, better resolution. I did the Classic Vs Plus test on 3 tracks. So my feedback is based on my first impressions. |

The battery icon on my stock WM1A started flashing after 20 hours while playing music in the Plus mode.
- Battery charged to 100% with Battery Care setting off
- Direct Source on
- High Gain
- Sony Z7M2 connected to the balanced port at a volume of 75 (my usual listening volume under these circumstances).
The songs being played are mostly 16/44 FLAC files, with one album being 24/44.
I'm used the screen only to check how much battery is left. The point is about the Plus mode consuming more battery when playing music anyway, not about the screen.
