There was a little issue with the Walkman One release, which was fixed, and the download link on the website was updated. Long story short, don't try to switch the sound signature from Bright to WM1Z. In case you did and you have issues with your player, please PM me. If you currently have Walkman One installed, I strongly recommend using the StockRevert package, and then reinstalling Walkman One from the new download link, which works fine when switching from Bright to WM1Z. Thanks, and sorry for this. Alright, I'll do that. By the way the sound of this new Bright (unreleased Dawn 2.1) is absolutely delightful. Another step up I thought impossible. Your work is outstanding MrWalkman

It's incredible indeed. I'm in disbelief with what you have done man. I thought it was impossible to improve what I had but here I am, thinking where the ceiling is with you around haha

I guess that the hardware mods themselves act more like a (permanent?) NPAudio tuning option

MrWalkman,Am I right in assuming that this is more of an "all-in-one" installer? You simply pick which external tuning you prefer? As always, I'm blown away by how fast you're able to roll out updates, improvements or fixes to such as small user group. It's amazing! I've always got to ask, is there any plan to bring this sort of update to the ZX300?

After you change the sound signature and you restart the player, you then apply the corresponding external tuning (according to the in-use sound signature), and that's it. I wish I had this idea from the beginning - I mean when I started releasing the last updates, including the one with the settings file, then Midnight v2 based on the 1A/Z firmware, etc. Nonetheless, I learned a bit more in the meanwhile, which helped me to bring this all-in-one idea to life. Walkman One is gonna come for all other players too (like A30/40/50, and ZX300). In fact, the A50 release should arrive tomorrow at most. It's easier to go from WM1 to ZX300 with these updates, but I wanted to have kind of the "framework" for the smaller players ready.

Do you have any other projects in mind with these players? Or do you just keep interpreting the code to see what else can be changed/modded along the way? It would be cool to see if the external tuning's could be loaded onto the player and switched on the fly without having to hook the player up to a computer to switch things around. That being said, it's not like anyone would be changing the tuning every other day. Chances are, people would stick to the one they prefer. I for one can't wait to see what Plus v2 is like - I'm just waiting on getting my Nayparm'd ZX300 back. I know Steve has had a hell of a backlog and not been able to spend much time on things since moving though. Either way, keep up the good work. We wouldn't have any of this without you and it's amazing that you share it with us.

The only other idea that I have right now is to make it possible to change stuff directly from your player - except the tuning installation, which I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work the same otherwise. The ZX300 should sound awesome, especially modded, but also in comparison to the stock ZX300 firmware.

Cool, good times and timing, I hope to progress a couple of very overly delayed ZX300 mods this weekend.

MrWalkman is it possible to leave TWRP recovery on to flash zips for config change? Unfortunately I didn't really get TWRP to work, just to boot. In any case, there is the external tuning which I'm pretty sure that if it's not done via the Sony installer way, it won't sound the same. Also, TWRP is replacing the "native" update mode of the player, so normal installing would not work. Just take the thing that if you flash the 3.02 firmware while the model is WM1A, the device will sound slightly different while the model is WM1Z, even if the device is actually a WM1A. My thinking is that we have X options, which we can play with with the goal of finding something you like, and then you'll use that most of the time, so at least for me it's not a big deal that I need a PC to switch signatures. Maybe I'll manage something in the future to allow changing stuff in the settings file without a computer, but otherwise, I don't know at the moment. We shall see. P.S. I was actually thinking a long time ago to try getting the Aroma installer thing to run on the player. This would be an idea for replacing the test mode with the Aroma thing, where you'd be able to choose settings. Maybe I'll look into it again.

Another possibility of changing config from the player without a PC might be to use playlist names ? as you can rename them from the gui. Not sure if you can read the playlist names early enough in the boot sequence though.
