The Walkman One firmware is now available
for the NW-A50Series players (A55/A56/A57)!Thanks again to Nayparm for his generous donation of a WM1A (after having to sell mine, unfortunately).
The update wouldn't have been possible otherwise!This firmware integrates the Midnight and Dawn sound signatures as "Warm"and "Bright", and adds a "Neutral" sound signature, as well as the WM1Z sound. The Bright/Dawn signature that can be found in this firmware was not previously released as standalone. The "Neutral" sound signature is a combination of Midnight and Dawn. You can choose your sound signature from the settings file. If you're using some other custom firmware on the A50, you'll first have to revert to stock, using the StockRevert package made for your installed firmware. MrWalkman,This is the 1Z sound correct? The DMP enhanced is still coming? I went through the tunings, couldn't install Bright for whatever reason, and Normal would install, but would not show up in the player information, just says Tuning not applied. Having said that the 1Z sound changes the player for me quite a bit, and is very nice to have if I wanna go and listen to different genres differently. the Dawn version3 classic is still my favorite, just hits all the right buttons for me, and has great synergy with my monitors.

Tried all the firmware, and I am back to Dawn FE (V3). The best synergy with my gear and modded player. This player just sounds incredible, and I am not wanting for anything else. Thank you to MrWalkman , and @nayparm for leading the way on this fine combination. when the zombies come, at least I'll have fantastic portable music. |

I don't listen to music for some days, sometimes, and I think I know how the WM1A sounds, and I feel I'm not necessarily in the mood to listen to music. I am using the WM1Z sound signature, with Plus v2 mode, and for now I am trying the J3 region (which will be available in an update).
Then I decide to listen to some music with the Z7M2 on the balanced port anyways, and I'm getting surprised yet again. Awesome sounding device!
Such an open, natural, and life-like sound!

Just tried the MX3 region.....damn I have been missing out on this. Sounds very dynamic, and balanced, both at the same time. My new favorite region for sure  |
