Today I experienced the crazy battery bar jump again. Yesterday I turned off my 1Z with 3 battery bars left. Now I turned it on and it has only 1. I'll see if it lasts like it normally should, if not I'll go back to 3.02 stock to see if that fixes it.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the firmware, as nothing related to the battery is altered. But feel free to experiment.
The battery having a certain percentage now and appearing a bit fuller later happened even on some of my Android smartphones.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's not firmware related but I want to write it off. An hour ago I plugged my 1Z to my computer for some USB transfers and after 3 minutes and unplugging the cable the battery showed two bars. It's right now on a 20 hr flac run so I'll see how long it takes for the battery to show the charge message. From previous tests I know it's got between 3 and 5 hours more of playback from the message.

Hi everyone,
Would like to check if anyone of you all are using Freezer (Modded Deezer) to download your flac files into your Wm1a/Z. As I realised all of my flac files downloaded through Freezer will always skip at the last 5 seconds with a message saying that the file format is not supported, but throughout the song it can be played just the last 5 seconds. On normal downloads (Reddit, torrent etc.) it seems to be playing fine.
I've tried on my cayin N6ii and Opus 2 and both seemed to be playing fine just on my Wm1a there's issues.
Anyone have any answer to this?

I confirm there seems to be a battery read problem. At 34 hours of flac playback I got the charge the device message. I'll test next run with Stock 3.02 to write the custom firmware off as the cause for this problem.

I got to 42 hours play time and 7 days stand by before shut down on the first run back from Nayparm with FE on source direct high gain flac 16/44 and don’t know how much battery had been used before I received it. Have now fully charged to 100% so will se how much I get on what I know to be a fully charged battery. On the original mod before the battery failure and with an earlier MrWalkman fw I got about 50 hours play time and 10 days stand by on a 100% charge

MrWalkman Is it posible to revert back to stock fw 3.02 and keep the Ext.Sound Signature of DMP-Z1 FE?

MrWalkman Is it posible to revert back to stock fw 3.02 and keep the Ext.Sound Signature of DMP-Z1 FE? Technically probably yes although depending on what model it expects to see it might require the old model changer. It is not something I’ve tried and I don’t really know how much each part contribute to the final sound

Well, I went back to Stock 3.02 to test if the battery read problem is related to CFW but as soon as I started to listen to some music I realized how polished, refined and improved is the sound with Mr.Walkman DMP-Z1 FE. I just could not listen to music without it haha! Now I don't know what to do about the battery read problem. First charge was done with DMP-Z1 II and it lasted around 53 hours of FLAC playback... (I always turn off the device when I'm not using it) The second one with DMP-Z1 FE and battery care activated lasted 40 (although I played more DSD music so I thought it was normal). It's during this run when I first experienced the battery bar jump (reading error) where I would turn off the device with three bars and next morning when turned on only one bar would remain. But the last one was a full charge in order to calibrate the battery and it lasted 40 hours of only 16/44 Flac playback, so something is odd here and I don't know what

It's good to do the test just to be sure, but if the firmware would be the problem, everyone would have this issue. MrWalkman Is it posible to revert back to stock fw 3.02 and keep the Ext.Sound Signature of DMP-Z1 FE? DMP-WM1 FE is already the stock firmware with the sound signature basically - but yeah, with the model switched to 1Z. I will see how it sounds while the model is still WM1A/Z.

I've decided to take a different approach on the battery tests after some reading. I always turn off my device when I'm not using it and it seems that having a 1TB micro sd makes the device use a lot power to create the database every time it turns on. Interestingly the longest run I got from the battery was the burn in run, when I just let the player play almost continuously music without turning it off. nc8000 never turns off his device and leaves it in standby, so I will try that in my next run and will report back. It's interesting because the battery bar jump problem occurred always when turning on the device after leaving it completely off during night time. We will see what happens...

Yes I've not turned the 1Z off in the 4 years I've had it and only rebooted it as part of fw installation. The same with the ZX2 in the 2 years I had it

Hello people. Glad that there is an alternative place to discuss these devices with a good group of people.
Getting ready to pair my WM-1A with a set of electrostatic earphones (KSE1200) .will be interesting re-examining my music collection while rolling all these firmwares.
Anyone try this combo already? Bring on the input good bad or ugly

I’ve managed 52 hours on a straight burn in/listen session before the battery indicator stopped flashing after I fully charged my Nayparmed 1a. Now on a run where I leave the 1a on when not playing music. This on balanced at 58-70 volume. Sounds beautiful 🙂. Also on Mr Walkmans final FW 🙂. On direct sound and screen brightness down to 1.
