What ? Did you custom made the steel chassis ? How about the back ? Did you do it so too ?
edition X won’t be cheap , if it has upgraded stuff….and if it isn’t, then it isn’t much excitement eh ?

If the DX320 is just an appearance mod then you can make your own anyway 😅 Its the original chassis I reworked 👍

The 2 mods I really want from the dx320 is
Stainless steel back plate with screws to seal it up better
Doubling up the batteries to be 8000/8000 mAH instead
though it is possible to double up the battery packs from custom packs….but how would one go around customizing the chassis =/

I did hit the curve spot on for a R2R2000 mod, in progress, with extended back for large battery etc.

Just for giggling , input buffer is now discrete class A, and together with output discrete class A, this makes the Dx300/320 to enjoy the first of it kind on the most unique amplification topology. Discrete class A push-pull on a portable platform. Wire is UPOCC silver Goldplated Litz, solder is gold infused mundorf solder, and power extensions are high purity solder Ibasso should bring out a module like this. given it being all that, some offset is expected. It sits about 2.8-3.3mV and I think that is damn fine. battery drops like a rock. Heat generated isn’t all that bad

So you've taken some discrete opamps and taken the boards off the dip 8 sockets. Actually are they from the Burson V6 classic ? Brilliant idea and very well implemented! How does she sound and how bad is the battery?

How does she sound and how bad is the battery? Yepe! Burson V6 Classic (keen eyes!!).Burson was designed as a discrete for vast range of voltage and input style. It has some noises when the player ID it and turning it on. Therefore, don’t plug in or listen to it when the player just boosting up , a bit annoying for a few seconds. Took at least 2 hours burn in before it started sounding great. The sound is on musical side but coming off from the classic itself and not electrolytic distortions factors as there are no room for it. Bass is very well articulated with many different textures. It isn’t about fidelity but rather musical, dynamic and staging. Battery …. Uhm …. About 3.5-4 hours. Especially sinking like a ship with dx300 when seeing digital side dropping 6% as opposing of analog dropping 30% 😂. When the Burson isn’t warmed up yet, and due to it demanding power drawn , it has some noises on R channel after 40 seconds or so, until pause, unplug/plug cycle again. So, some bugs still. It will has no problems afterward if not turned off.

Further adding power coupling capacitors to tackle the demanding power and noises issues. Now it works wonderfully, except the powering up and ID… Now, the tuning parts. Because this is a buffer based on Ibasso architecture, it share the same tuning techniques as the other modules that coupling and Decoupling does influences to the Burson. Most importantly that without the coupling electrolytic, it is slower and not as detailed. After all, the Burson has a great and organic warmth, powerful gain, vast soundstage, great density and dynamic.

Hey NPAudiio, have you looked into battery upgrades? Or is it too much trouble from poor 3rd party battery reliability? The 320 should have had bigger battery since the chips needed it. Poor compromise of ibasso .

Poor compromise of ibasso . Yes, absolutely no room as stock, it needs to be thicker but I would need to design something to fit the curves which is why I haven't yet, If I ever get time I still plan to.

People keeps asking about modifications on Amp13!! Well, all of my stuff is 4.4mm. Anyways, it had been slow, but steady, and evolving Below is some upgrades! Solen Silver foils, Tantalum from Vishay, and Nichicon UKW. Yes!! That amazing Muse 8920 OpAmps!!! Which are obsolete already
