Nice to see you guys are still enjoying the pinnacle of sound the modded 1Z is! I've fallen in love with truly neutral sound headphones as of late. After some months without music I got the Ollo S5X for mastering purposes and listening to music through MrWalkman One fw, J region and Neutral ss gives me the most natural sound I've ever experienced by a wide margin. There is virtually no distortion at all along the frequency spectrum. It's less emotional for sure, but so clean it gets incredibly soothing and relaxing. Definitely on the clinical side of things but bass is still present and very very tight. I never thought I would fall for a "boring" sound signature but I've discovered I really enjoy music like this too. Sometimes I miss the thrill or warmth of colored hp but neutral ss gets way more relaxing and being able to appreciate every single thing is very pleasant to my ears/brain. It's a very different world. Hope NPAudio and everyone else is doing fine! |

I've been listening to the 1Z tuning, MX3 region all day...... and it's an absolute joy. Perfect for me, so I guess it all works out. I didn't like the J region very much, and most people prefer that it seems like. This foil capacitor modded 1A is just a beast....no way and I mean "NO way" can the new Sony players touch this... MrWalkman another thanks to you, I was stuck on the Dawn version 3 firmware for the longest time, but this walkman one firmware takes the absolute cake. Job well done Hope everyone is doing well. |

Yeah I did, the J3 region didn't really work for me. It has more to do with the Iems that I am using than anything else. They are ruthlessly revealing and accurate. MX3 is the best out of all of them, I've tried everything at this point. 1Z tuning and MX3 If people send in their players to be modded and don't need the 3.5 mm output, the foil capacitor upgrade is simply stunning. I can't recommend it enough. Paired with Solid Mundorf SilverGold internal cables, both 4.4mm output and battery, it's a real treat Battery is 26 gauge solid silver Gold. |

For me with the IER-Z1R the J3 region gives me the best from both J and MX3. My mod also got rid of the 3.5 as I didn’t need it. My mod is now close to 2 years old, don’t know what extra benefit the latest generation of the mod gives more nor if I would be able to hear the difference, my current mod is already stellar. |

The foil mod is a like going from 1080p to 8k.
It refines the sound and gets rid of distortion completely.
Th resolution is the best I have heard so far outside of the full size DMP.
The added foil and tantalum capacitors get rid of electrolytic ripples in current delivery.
I'm not just hyping it up, it's the real deal. If you can, send it back to Nayparm..I promise you it's worth the money and the effort.
Ask for 18 gauge Mundorf Solid SilverGold 4.4mm cables, and SilverGold Battery cables 24 gauge.
Your player will beat anything out on the market.
I'm using .o1uf mkp1837 capacitors as a bypass, Steve might have something better. Anyhow, it's amazing what he's done with this 6 year old player, and it's also amazing how much headroom Sony left on the wayside in it's stock configuration.
Next step for me is to do the mods on my full side Speaker system. I'm going to do a similar mod on every electrolytic capacitor in my entire audio chain.
